STUDENTS
Kirby Students exists to prepare Students to become lifelong disciples of Jesus by equipping families, engaging students in the life of the church, and building a lasting faith rooted in God's Word. We believe that every person is on a journey toward spiritual maturity in Christ and is being equipped to follow faithfully where God leads.
In our Student Ministry, we pursue this vision by consistently teaching God’s Word, providing meaningful times of worship and fellowship, and offering opportunities to serve our local community and the nations. Our goal is to equip students to grow in Christ and live out their faith in their homes, schools, teams, and everyday lives.
The 5 P's of Kirby Woods Next Gen Ministry
At Kirby Woods Baptist Church, we believe the church and the home work best together to raise the next generation to know, love, and follow Jesus. Our Children's and Student Ministries are built around five core values that shape everything we do—from Sunday mornings to Wednesday nights, camps, retreats, and everyday discipleship.
Preparation
We equip children and students with a strong biblical foundation so they are prepared for every stage of life. Our goal is to develop mature followers of Christ who are ready to stand firm in their faith, while partnering with parents as the primary disciplers of their children (Ephesians 6:4).
Participation
We believe the next generation is not simply the future of the church—they are an important part of the church today. We intentionally encourage children and students to worship, serve, build relationships across generations, and actively participate in the life and mission of the church (Ephesians 4:15–16).
Passion
Our desire is to see young people genuinely love Jesus with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. We cultivate a passion for God's Word, authentic worship, prayer, serving others, and sharing the gospel so that faith becomes more than an activity—it becomes a way of life.
Protection
Today's world presents unique challenges for children and students. We strive to provide a safe, Christ-centered environment while equipping parents with biblical resources to navigate cultural influences, technology, relationships, and the everyday challenges facing families.
Partnership
Parents are the primary disciple-makers in their children's lives, and our ministry exists to support—not replace—that calling. We are committed to partnering with families by providing encouragement, resources, and opportunities that help parents lead their children toward lifelong faith in Christ.
Student Ministry Rhythm
Sunday Mornings
On the first Sunday of each month, we host Breakfast Sunday. This is a special time of fellowship when students gather and invite other Sunday School classes to join us.
On all other Sundays, students meet in the Student Room (W311). From 9:00–9:30 AM, we spend time in fellowship, enjoy donuts, and hear important announcements. From 9:30–10:15 AM, students break into gender-specific small groups for Bible study and discussion.
Wednesday Night Gatherings
On Wednesday evenings, students gather in the Student Room from 6:15–7:30 PM for worship, biblical teaching, and fellowship. This midweek gathering is a key opportunity for students to deepen their faith and build a strong community.
Annual Events
Throughout the year, Kirby Students participates in and hosts several impactful events, including:
Come As You Aren’t Halloween Party
